New Books!!

Saturday, 3rd September 2011

Fasting moon has over. I’ve learn to fast, though not every day, not even a whole day. I’ve read my iqra, and I upgraded to second level. I’ve read book everyday with ummi and sometimes coloring too. Ummi said according to my Ramadhan journal, I deserved a present. And the present is book! Ummi and abi bought me some new books at Periplus, there are Panda Packs Her Bags, Turtle Takes a Trip, and Balalaika.

Turtle Takes a Trip is the book I loved the most. The book told about a turtle who find a safest place to nest, she found many challenges and dangerous things along the journey. The turtle taught us to keep our sea clean, and to love animals, and please not to harm them.

Ummi Get Injured

Monday, 15th August 2011

Today was a sad day.
Ummi sicks. She spilled by boiled oil while she was cooking. She went to the hospital immediately and we lefted at home with our nanny bude Tika. She took such a long time in hospital and I was worried. But bude said ummi would be fine, the doctor will treat her wound and gave her some medicine. Really, she finally came home and brought medicines and ointments, I remembered my ointments when I had ulcers. Ummi said it’s an oinment for burn.

That day we were playing alone, just me and my brother. Umi could not walk due to injuries in his leg really badly. Bude help him do works.
However, when it’s time for bed, ummi read us more stories than usual, she read us a thick book. She said there is always a lot time of storytelling for a good kids. So that night we were reading Aku Anak Baik.

It's a story about being a good kid, who always say good things in a good ways, using magical words like sorry, please, thank you, help, and excuse me. Ummi also told us that a good kid always love to help people, especially parents and brothers and sisters. a good kid also friendly and not easily cry. I told ummi that I am a good kid, I put my own glass and plate in a wash basin after meal, I help ummi clean up our toys, and I also cheer up my little brother when he sad. Then ummi said, she proud to have a very good kids like me and my brother, thank you ummi!

Abi Went Working

Saturday, August 13th 2011

Abi back to work today and will return home six weeks later. He is a supervisor geologist in a mining company, he works on a mining site at Batu Licin, South Kalimantan. He will depart this afternoon by car.

This morning we went together to find marine fish which he had promised me for my pet. But after four fish shops we did not find any marine fish. The sellers said the waves were so high that it’s difficult to get such a fish. So we came home and walked abi for his departure.

We visited granny after that to play with cousins and then went home for ifthar. The circumstance slightly changed when abi working away, no one teased and joked with a wide laughter as abi did, but we're used to it. Then right before bed at night, ummi always reading stories for us.

So this is the book today,

Alfred Chest's Story

The story is about an elephant who feels sad because it has a very very long trunk like no other elephants. Every day he always tried to hide his trunk, folded it, wrapped it in a blanket, or hide it in the flower vines. But one day, he managed to help a little girl with his long trunk. In the end he was grateful because he has a longer trunk, and he was proud to be different.

This is a great story and we loved it. Ummi said this story teaches us to be grateful for what Allah has given us.
